Macdonald to visit Kimberley and Cranbrook to meet with seniors

In an effort to give seniors the opportunity to share their stories, Columbia River – Revelstoke MLA Norm Macdonald is holding a seniors forum on Thursday, February 7th in Kimberley.  Macdonald is also meeting with various seniors group throughout the Columbia Valley.

“Seniors need to know that their stories are important,” stated Macdonald.  “They also need to know that the government can be forced to listen and must take seriously the concerns that they have raised.”

In previous forums over the last week, Macdonald has heard concerns about the quality of care provided in assisted living and residential care facilities as well as issues around transportation and increasing cost of housing.

“I believe that seniors deserve dignity and respect.  We need to do everything we can as a society to protect and provide for seniors.”

Macdonald is inviting seniors from both Cranbrook and Kimberley to attend the forum on February 7th.

“Those who are unable to attend the forum can also submit their stories by email, mail or phonecall.  I want to hear what matters to you.”
