Macdonald presents petition supporting Revelstoke paramedics

VICTORIA – In the Legislature today, Columbia River – Revelstoke MLA Norm Macdonald presented a petition signed by Revelstoke residents supporting paramedics.

“Revelstoke residents are petitioning this House, asking legislators to address the critical condition of the ambulance service and to work towards recruitment and retention of skilled paramedics who provide the community with vital emergency services,” said Macdonald in the Legislature.

This petition was developed in response to Bill 21, legislation that forced the end of paramedics’ job action.

“It is clear the community of Revelstoke supports paramedics.  People in this community know just how important ambulance service is.

“The BC Liberals have failed rural communities with the imposition of Bill 21.  Rather than negotiating with paramedics to address rural issues, they’ve forced a contract that makes it very difficult for paramedics to serve in rural areas.”
